Patient Case Studies

Adrienne MacDonald

Adrienne MacDonaldI have also survived cancer twice. In 1997 I was diagnosed with Leukaemia 9 months after my wedding to my husband John, I was 26 years old. . I spent four months in hospital undergoing various treatments including chemotherapy.

At the time I was told it was unlikely that I would survive. I proved my doctors wrong and after a bone marrow transplant I seemed to recover well. Unfortunately, in 2004 my cancer returned I needed another bone marrow transplant, this time it came from a donor in Germany. Since then I have felt much better and I am getting on with life, I am always active and love travelling and skiing.

I now have a different outlook on life, I enjoy every day, and I appreciate every day. Although I never thought my cancer would return, it did, but I won again.

Its only through advance and research that I am here today to tell my story. Please support this campaign and help ensure you hear more success stories like mine.
